Santorini Wedding Venues
Six iconic backdrops. One unforgettable day.
The Six Faces of Santorini
Santorini is not one place — it is a dozen villages, a hundred terraces, six distinct landscapes that each tell a different kind of love story. Below are the venue types we know most intimately, and how to choose between them.

Caldera Cliff Venues, Oia
The most photographed sunset in the world unfolds, every evening, behind the blue-domed churches of Oia. Cliff venues here are carved into the caldera wall, hanging seemingly suspended over the Aegean six hundred feet below. Your ceremony backdrop is the volcano of Nea Kameni, the white village curving toward Fira, and a sky that turns from cobalt to molten copper.
These venues are unmatched for ceremony drama and photography, but capacity is limited and sunset slots book out twelve to eighteen months in advance. Best for couples who want the iconic, postcard Santorini wedding.
Capacity: 2–80 guests · Best for: Sunset ceremonies, classic Santorini imagery, smaller weddings.

Cave House Terraces, Imerovigli
Imerovigli sits on the highest point of the caldera — its name means "watchtower" in old Greek. Wedding venues here are often carved directly into the volcanic rock: vaulted cave houses with whitewashed terraces, plunge pools that mirror the sky, and uninterrupted views toward Skaros rock and Oia in the distance.
The mood is quieter than Oia, more contemplative, and the sunsets equally extraordinary. Many of our most intimate ceremonies — under twenty guests — happen here, on private terraces invisible from the road above.
Capacity: 2–40 guests · Best for: Elopements, micro weddings, couples seeking privacy without sacrificing the view.

Vineyard & Estate Venues, Pyrgos
Inland from the caldera, the medieval village of Pyrgos rises on a hill surrounded by ancient kouloura vines — the basket-shaped vines unique to Santorini that have produced Assyrtiko wine for three thousand years. Estate venues here offer something the cliff cannot: scale, privacy, and the rustic elegance of Mediterranean stone.
Couples often gravitate to Pyrgos for larger receptions or for the rehearsal dinner the night before a Oia ceremony — a way to anchor the celebration in the agricultural soul of the island. Wine pairings here are unforgettable.
Capacity: 40–200 guests · Best for: Larger weddings, multi-day celebrations, wine-loving couples.

Boutique Hotel Roof Terraces, Fira
Fira is Santorini's lively capital — and its boutique hotels, layered like staircases down the caldera face, offer rooftop terraces of stunning urban-chic glamour. Think infinity pools at sunset, floor-to-ceiling glass, a string quartet against the lights of the harbour far below.
The advantage is energy: Fira is alive in a way the quieter villages are not. Guests can walk to dinner, the nightlife continues until dawn, and accommodation options span every preference and budget.
Capacity: 20–120 guests · Best for: Modern, stylish weddings; couples who want guests close to dining and nightlife.

Private Villa Gardens, Akrotiri
At the southwestern tip of Santorini, Akrotiri offers something the rest of the island rarely can: total privacy. Private villas here come with sprawling gardens of olive trees and bougainvillea, sea-view pools, and complete buy-out availability — meaning the wedding party can take over the entire property for several days.
These venues are ideal for couples who value seclusion, for wedding weekends rather than single ceremonies, and for celebrations involving children or larger families.
Capacity: 30–150 guests · Best for: Private buyouts, multi-day weddings, families.

Beachfront Venues, Perissa & Kamari
The volcanic black-sand beaches of Perissa and Kamari are a Santorini secret. The contrast — black sand, white linen, blue Aegean — produces some of the most striking wedding imagery you can imagine. Beach clubs along the shore offer relaxed elegance: long tables in the sand, bare feet, lanterns swaying as night falls.
Beach weddings tend to be more informal in tone, which suits couples who prize ease and atmosphere over grandeur. Sunset ceremonies on Perissa, with the sacred mountain of Mesa Vouno rising behind, are unforgettable.
Capacity: 20–150 guests · Best for: Relaxed, barefoot ceremonies; couples drawn to the sea.
